Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the US. She is an actress, singer and dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway performances, she starred the role of Essie Carmichael in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford spent her time working with some of the most acclaimed directors and actors across stage film and television and she will continue that collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford next will star opposite Kumail in Robert Siegel's exclusive Hulu series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres November 22. Ashford is currently in production for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will be aired on Disney DTC as an Hulu Original. Ashford returns to Broadway on March 20, 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The same team that created Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the helm of the production. Ashford was last seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp at the center of the first impeachment proceeding in America in Over 100 Years. Two seasons ago, Ashford was a star of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also included Ben Vereen as well as Hector Elizondo. Other Broadway roles include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and currently splits the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
